Details

Begin in Cairo with guided tours of the Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum, and Old Cairo. Embark on a 4-night Nile River cruise visiting Luxor, Karnak, Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae Temple. Enjoy a felucca ride around Elephantine Island. Head to Sharm el-Sheikh for three nights at an all-inclusive Red Sea resort. Cross by ferry to Jordan and experience Wadi Rum's otherworldly desert landscape with a 4x4 jeep tour and dinner under the stars. Discover Petra's rose-coloured Treasury and Monastery on a guided tour. Relax at the Dead Sea, explore Madaba's Byzantine mosaics, visit Mount Nebo, and tour Amman's Citadel and Roman Theatre.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Today depart for Cairo, Egypt. Due to flight scheduling, some customers may depart on Day 2 to arrive on Day 2.

Upon arrival in Cairo, be met by a representative at the airport and transferred to the hotel.

Overnight: Baron Hotel or similar, Cairo

Visit Memphis, the first unified capital of the ancient world. Drive to Saqqara, home of the step pyramid, the first limestone structure ever built. Continue to the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza. The Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) is the only survivor of the Seven Great Wonders.

Meals: Breakfast

Visit the famous Egyptian Museum with pharaonic treasures from over 5,000 years ago. Visit the Salah El Din Citadel, a medieval Islamic-era fortification housing the Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha. Drive to Old Cairo and visit Coptic Cairo with the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, and The Greek Church of Saint George.

Flight to Luxor. Transfer to the ship. After lunch, visit Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. Optional upgrade to 5-Star Dahabiya Sailboat (Iris Dahabiya or similar).

Tour the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank. See the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Sail to Edfu via Esna Lock. Evening sunset, dinner and party on board.

Disembark and fly to Cairo. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Optional visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Fly to Sharm el-Sheikh on the Red Sea. Check into your all-inclusive resort. Enjoy beaches, coral reefs, and some of the best dive spots in the world.

Free day at leisure: sunbathe at world-class beaches, explore the Old Town, hike Mount Sinai, or discover underwater treasures at many diving spots.

Catch a ferry to Aqaba, Jordan (approximately 3 hours). Continue to Wadi Rum, a protected desert wilderness with dramatic sandstone mountains and natural arches. Spend the night in a desert camp (private tents with facilities) and enjoy dinner under the stars.

2-hour jeep tour of Wadi Rum, climbing sand dunes. Continue to Petra. Walk through the Siq canyon to the magnificent Treasury, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Explore the caves, tombs, Royal tombs on the East Cliff, and Nabatean temples.

Travel to the Dead Sea (approximately 190 km). Enjoy a free day for bathing or relaxing. The Dead Sea is more than 400 metres below sea level, the lowest point on dry land. Watch the sunset over the West Bank with Jerusalem in the distance.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Drive to Madaba to discover Byzantine mosaics including the oldest preserved mosaic map of the Holy Lands. Continue to Mount Nebo where Moses looked across to the Promised Land. Amman city tour: visit the Citadel and Roman Theatre. Free time for shopping in the city centre (approximately 80 km).
