Day-by-Day Itinerary

Today, depart for Athens, Greece. Due to flight scheduling, some customers may depart on Day 2 to arrive on Day 2.

Upon arrival into Athens, be met by a tour representative and transferred to the hotel. If too early for check-in, luggage can be stored at the hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy an Athens city highlights tour including a visit to the world-famous Acropolis, home to the Parthenon. Visit the new Acropolis Museum.

Transfer to the pier to embark on a cruise to the Saronic Islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydra. Explore Hydra's cobblestoned streets, Poros with its clock tower, and Aegina famous for its pistachios. Buffet lunch served on board with traditional Greek dances on the return journey.

Start the four-day mainland Greece tour at the Corinth Canal. Continue to Nafplion, the first Capital of Greece, for a walking tour. Drive westbound through Tripolis and Megalopolis to Olympia (approximately 340 km).

Visit the archaeological museum and ancient site of Olympia. Run in the stadium and learn the history of the Olympic Games. Continue northbound past Patras and the Rion-Antirion Bridge to Delphi (approximately 240 km).

Visit two of the most famous Meteora monasteries: Grand Meteoro & Varlaam. Drive southbound, stopping at Thermopylae where Leonidas and the 300 Spartans defended Greece in 480 BC. Return to Athens (approximately 357 km).

Transfer to the airport for your international flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, be met by the tour leader and transferred to the hotel. Istanbul crosses two continents: Europe and Asia.

Internal flight to Luxor. Explore Karnak Temple, once linked to Luxor Temple by the three-kilometre Avenue of Sphinxes. Transfer to the Luxor cruise port to embark on a four-night Nile River cruise.

Early start to cross the desert to visit Abu Simbel, carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC, relocated in 1968. Afternoon felucca (sailing boat) cruise down the Nile towards Aswan.
